Give me a ring


A lonely phone surrounded by noise.
Now that everything is quiet. Now that everything stands still.
Now you expect the aggressive ringing that will never come again.

A telephone as that in the trenches. Middle of the war. Under constant fire.
A soldier shouts into the phone. Receives commands.
„Bands march! More coal, more coal! Go Go go!“
Out of sheer dust can not breathe it. Before loud noise you can hear nothing.

The machinery must be running on. Of which depend on human lives.
The war is not yet won! So go, go, go!

And again, the phone rings. And again dropping bombs.
This time, the tapes stand still.


The mine was shot in World War II and significantly damaged. The winding tower was destroyed and rebuilt. Until this century, the plant secured countless people to livelihood. Since 2008, she now rests.



Ruf mich an

Ein einsames Telefon umgeben von Krach.
Jetzt, wo alles still ist. Jetzt, wo alles stillsteht.
Jetzt erwartet man immer noch das aggressive Klingeln, das niemals wieder kommt.

Ein Telefon, wie das im Schützengraben. Mitten im Krieg. Unter Dauerbeschuss.
Ein Soldat schreit in den Hörer. Empfängt Befehle.
„Bänder marsch! Mehr Kohle, mehr Kohle! Los, los, los!“
Vor lauter Staub kann man nicht atmen. Vor lauten Krach kann man nichts hören.

Die Maschinerie muss weiter laufen. Davon hängen Menschenleben ab.
Der Krieg ist noch nicht gewonnen! Also los, los, los!

Und wieder klingelt das Telefon. Und wieder fallen Bomben.
Diesmal stehen die Bänder still.


Die Zeche wurde im Zweiten Weltkrieg beschossen und erheblich beschädigt. Der Förderturm wurde zerstört und wieder neu aufgebaut. Bis in dieses Jahrhundert sicherte die Anlage unzähligen Menschen den Broterwerb. Seit 2008 steht sie nun still.
